Mysterious Second Half Implosion Crushes Woodlands

Woodlands Wellington was knocked out of the RHB Singapore Cup 2013 preliminary round after Geylang skipper Jozef Kapláň inspired the Eagles to a 4-1 win, condemning the Rams to their worst result this season. 

The Bedok based outfit had a shaky start to the match but eventually ran out convincing winners against a disappointing Woodlands side, thanks to a hat trick from the Slovakian.

Rams Eager To Progress In RHB Singapore Cup

Woodlands Wellington will kick off their 2013 RHB Singapore Cup campaign tonight, facing Geylang International in the preliminary round of the competition on home soil. 

Woodlands have failed to get past the first round of the Cup over the last three seasons, with their most recent defeat coming against Burmese side Kanbawza FC last May.

Yazid Stars As Rams Hold Warriors

Woodlands Wellington climbed to eighth in the S.League table after holding Warriors FC to a 1-1 draw at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts dominated the game and had numerous chances on goal but were denied by the heroics of Yazid Yasin, who single-handedly earned his team a precious point.

Woodlands Won't Dwell On Loss

They have lost their joint-top league scorer, but Woodlands Wellington still have their sights on a third-place finish in the Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League.

Four-goal playmaker Khalid Hamdaoui parted ways with the Rams this month after his six-month contract expired. But they are still standing by coach Salim Moin's target set in February.

Japanese On Target As Rams Held By Warriors To Stalemate

Woodlands Wellington left the Choa Chu Kang Stadium in disappointment as the Rams failed to hold on to their lead till the very end with Tatsuro Inui curling in a free-kick two minutes from time to cancel out Atsushi Shimono’s brilliant opener in the 62nd minute.

It was deja vu for the Rams as it was also a late Inui free-kick in the reverse fixture earlier in the season which was turned in by Shimpei Sakurada to bring the game to a 2-2 deadlock.
