Although the Rams ultimately ran out convincing winners on Friday, Yazid singlehandedly kept them in the game in the first half, when they faced wave after wave of Young Lions pressure.
Just three minutes after opening the scoring for Young Lions in the 9th minute, Sherif El-Masri nearly got a second when he connected with a Shamil Sharif cross but saw his effort clawed away by the veteran
custodian at the near post. Yazid followed up by making smart saves to keep out efforts by Shamil and Faiz Salleh in quick succession, before denying the latter in a one-on-one situation two minutes before the break.
Although the 33-year-old was less busy in the second half, he did do well when called into action and made another good save to keep out Fareez Farhan's 72nd-minute snapshot, but his outing came to a premature end when he had to be replaced in injury-time after dislocating his wrist.
