Among Woodlands' much anticipated new signings like Khalid Hamdaoui and Jang Jo Yoon lies a quiet but dependable workhorse who has been putting in industrious performances week in week out for the last four years at Jurong East Stadium.
This wonderful signing is none other than Japanese playmaker Atsushi Shimono, the unsung hero of Albirex Niigata (S). Sitting out in the friendly match against his former club due to a bout of illness, our reporters approached him for a short interview after the match.
